Frequent Questions

What could be causing my fuse board to trip?

When a fuse board trips, it could be due to one of three things: a fault in the electrical installation, a faulty appliance plugged in, or an overly sensitive RCD. Whatever it is, we can find it and fix it with our test equipment and, of course, our knowledge gained through the years.

We can assist you if you are having problems with fuse boards. Please contact us and we will gladly provide you with a quote.

How much does electrical work typically cost?

Electrical work can differ from one company to the next due to price structure and wholesaler discounts.

The best way to determine an average price for the work is to obtain three or four quotes to get an idea of the overall cost and then decide who you want to do the work.

Remember that if a quote sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.

How frequently should my electrical installation be tested?

Your property should be tested every ten years, and there should be a sticker on the fuse box with the date of the next inspection.

If you are unsure, I offer a free visual inspection service that will determine if a number of items in the installation are out of compliance with the regulations.

How can I tell if someone is qualified to do electrical work?

The best thing to do is to be truthful and ask some probing questions. At the end of the day, it is your property, and you should feel at ease with the tradesman you hire. You could ask questions like the ones listed below.

How long have you held your qualification?
Are you registered?
Are you covered by insurance?
Do you have any references I could contact?
